How often do you go back to your hometown?

I go back to my hometown twice a year because my hometown is very far away from here.
I need to fly from Khon Kaen to Bangkok. Then, I need to fly from Bangkok to a Chiang Rai. The journey of going back home sometimes makes me exhausted. Moreover, I need to wait for a long holiday or vacation because it’s not worth if I go back for 2-3 days.
So, it’s quite hard to go back to Chiang Rai frequently.
