Why do humans fear ghosts?

Since you have never in reality seen a ghost, all you have heard is the horror story about ghosts. You probably have listened to ghost stories since you were a kid, it reinforces itself in your mind as you grow up. Also, more than 99% of the ghost stories always portray ghosts as a negative character. By the time you reach teenage and are able to think logically a few steps ahead in real scenarios, you start to question the authenticity of those horror stories you have heard. This makes the subject of the authenticity of ghosts unknown to you, you fear that those stories about ghosts might, after all, be true. And this goes on for a long time.

I will tell you that my biggest fear is a ghost.
Whatever ghost is real or not.
I still believe that ghost is real.
I'm really afraid of all kinds of ghosts.
I don't even watch these kinds of movies.
I really stay away from them.
When I watched ghost movies, I usually kept the story to think.
I CAN'T sleep !!!!

Personally, I am a person who scared about ghost but I still watch the movies about ghost.
I scared of ghost because firstly, I never see them and hopefully I don't want to.
Secondly, in my imagination I think ghost will appear with a scary look or scary face that will make me cry.
Also, I think ghost will be so powerful can control everything so I'm afraid of ghost.

In my opinion, people must afraid of invisible things.
Ghosts are the invisible things for human to avoid at night.
People have different imagination about ghost because they have own thinking.
Moreover, elder people always lie to their children about ghost to make them fear.
It is the basic trick to make them obey you.

I think because people have recieved the imagination about the ghost that they are scary and they will kill or do somethinf bad with you.
More reason is people have watched the movies about the ghost and most of the ghosts in the movies is very powerful and scary for human.
Personally, I haven't seen ghosts but I still scrared of ghosts because this belief is cultivated deeply in my mind.

It is quite hard to tell the reason why humans fear ghosts. I am one of people who fear ghosts. I’ve never seen them before, but I really believe that they are real. For me my imagination and fear about ghost are made from scary movies and storytelling. When I was a kids and I cried at night, my grandmother would tell me ghost story. That was the beginning of my fear. When I was in primary school, my friend also told me the scary legends so, I started to believe strongly. Now, even though my fear is reduced, I still believe. So, I think humans fear  ghosts because of their experiences whether hearing scary story, watching scary movies or facing real situation.

If you ask me this question, I would like to say that... people always believe in the invisible things. I bet all of you have heard this statement before, just you didn't see it, that didn't mean it didn't exist. People fear ghosts because they haven't seen them before. They believe in ghosts because of the society. People always think that there are ghosts all around us, while we don't know that's truth or not. By the way, people fear ghosts because of the old tradition. They couldn't find the causes of the disaster as well, so they blamed that because of the wrath of ghosts as well.

In my opinion, human beings fear ghosts because we were taugh by elder that ghost is a scary thing. Ghost has ugly face and body. Another reason is media that we have been watching interpret ghost as bad thing. We normally imagine how scary ghost is and then scared it. It is too hard to explain because it is spitritual ones. If we do not have belief, we will not scare ghost.

In my opinion, we fear the ghost because we have taught that ghost is a bad thing. Apart from that, ghost has been portrayed as a scary and negative character to make children fear to do bad things. So, the elder makes ghost story which cannot prove to make children do a good things. If they do a bad thing, they believed that the ghost is coming to them.

For me, it might be explained through the concept of human's conception. People always feel uncomfortable or fear with something that is explainable. I sometimes have a feeling like that. I am fear about what is unfamiliar to my own perspective. It may also include that we always judge something by my bias and imagination. Create the dark side in our mind then, it effects to our feeling and conception.

I'm not really sure. By the way, I would say ghosts or invisible things are things I always wonder if I exactly fear for them or not. As for me, I ought to fear for things I cannot see. That is, I might fear the ghosts since they cannot be seen (and I always hope I would not see them). Although I am afraid of ghosts, I really enjoy listening to ghost stories.

My opinion about ghosts is dubious. But, people fear ghosts, satan and other things synonymous because they are not perceived visually. Imagination and thoughts impart the concept of fear in a person. It is rather easy to face a demon in person than the thought of it. Thoughts can make you or break you.

I think the sentence is quite true. Human tend to fear what they don’t know and understand.
Ghost usually looks like dead people. I think it’s one of the reasons why people are afraid of ghosts.

Personally, the cause is many fictional stories in which ghosts can harm people.
I am very scared of ghosts. Almost everyday when I am about to sleep, I keep myself ready in a position to run as soon as I switch off the lights. Then I go inside my blanket as I feel very secure inside like no ghost can harm me in there. I think that I am only scared of ghosts because it likes in the movies.
