Absolutely. It's a survival skill. It has nothing to do with you being a male or a female.
Cooking for me is a hobby. I can cook for hours. Good food at the end of it is just a bonus because I actually enjoy the process. But it's not everyone's cup of tea, I understand.
I really learned how to cook when I lived by myself in a different country. It was expensive to eat out all the time and I didn't like the food they had. So I was forced to cook for myself.

Oh yes. Being able to turn unedible dried, frozen or raw foods into cooked edibles is a must for everyone. Male, female, hermaphrodite.
It really is very simple, the act of cooking is 2 things. Cleaning, and heating. You need to clean the object from contaminants, otherwise you might get sick. Then you need to heat it up, either together with water, or some other media to make it edible.
