What do you like about yourself?

I like that I have a lot of self-respect. You don't love me? Do you want to leave me? I'll hold the fucking door open. I don't plead. I don't chase people. I don't beg anyone to stay. I've learned it the hard way. For me, nothing is more important than my self-respect. Moreover, I like the fact that I enjoy my own company. I can go shopping alone, watch movies alone. I can pretty much do anything alone, without feeling lonely.

Optimism is what I like about myself. I don’t know whether I was born with it, raised to be, or cultivated it — probably all three — but I refuse to accept anything other than the idea that the day after tomorrow will be better than today.
